Vivint Solar, the second largest U.S. residential solar provider, has named two new executives to its leadership team and promoted another. According to the solar installer, the three executives bring more than a half-century of experience in technology, marketing, business development, and finance to help propel the company into a successful 2014 and beyond.

The new executive team members are:

  • Chris Lundell, Chief Marketing Officer, responsible for all marketing strategy, programs, partnerships, and campaigns. Lundell brings more than 25 years of experience in sales and marketing leadership management. Most recently, he worked as Vice President of worldwide sales at EveryoneSocial.com, a social marketing platform.
  • Jan Newman, Vice President of Business Development, responsible for expansion of business partnerships and channels and possible growth into new solar verticals. Newman is a technology entrepreneur with more than 25 years of executive experience in the industry. Previously, Newman was a partner at SageCreek Partners, a business consulting firm.
  • Paul Dickson, promoted to Vice President of Operations, responsible for directing the systems, processes, and solutions that make it possible to deliver lower-cost power to homeowners. Dickson was most recently Vice President of Finance at Vivint, driving the company’s finance business with tax equity partners. He played a significant role in raising more than $955 million in tax equity funding, a critical component of Vivint’s business model. In addition to his new role, Dickson will continue to provide financial operations expertise to the team.

Vivint Solar CEO Greg Butterfield commented: “These leadership additions are designed to meet today’s rapid growth and lay the foundation for future expansion as we position Vivint Solar as the premier provider of residential solar power.”

“This is an exciting expansion period for Vivint Solar and we are fortunate to have proven, high-achieving executives like Chris, Jan and Paul join the team to provide the leadership to widen our customer reach and further develop of our eco-friendly solutions,” Butterfield added.

Vivint Solar has significantly bolstered its management team in 2013, adding key executives such as Butterfield and Thomas Plagemann, Executive Vice President, Capital Markets, earlier this year.

Founded in 2011, Vivint managed to become the second-largest U.S. residential solar installer in less than 3 years. The company attributes its rapid rise to their successful sales strategy of skilled residential in-person and consultative sales. This differentiates Vivint from other solar competitors.

Recently the company was awarded a 2013 Sustainable Business Award from Utah Business magazine.
