Vivint Solar announces an expansion into a new state for the company, Arizona. Vivint plans to hire approximately 100 employees and direct sellers in the state.

Vivint Solar, now the #2 solar provider in the U.S., is continuing to expand.

Today, the company announced that it has expanded into the Phoenix, Arizona area with two new offices. This is the company’s first business expansion into the Grand Canyon State. Vivint is bringing jobs to the state in addition to more solar for homeowners, with plans to hire approximately 100 employees and direct sellers in Arizona.

“Arizona is well-suited for distributed solar energy generation, and we believe our lease offering will work well in the Phoenix area,” said Chance Allred, vice president of sales at Vivint Solar. “We think giving residents another choice for their energy needs is a net win for their bottom lines.”

According to the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), Arizona ranks second in the country in installed solar capacity, with 1,822 MW of solar energy currently installed.

This announcement comes on the heels of expansions by Vivint Solar in Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Maryland.
