Sunrun wants to reach all Californians. With its latest expansion into new markets, the company will be available to over 90 percent of the state’s residents. Ethan Miller, senior vice president of operations at Sunrun, states, “By expanding to more regions, Sunrun will be able to help more of the state’s homeowners get solar and save money on their bills.”
California is already the leading US state for solar. According to the 2014 U.S. Solar Market Insight Report by the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) and GTM Research, the state accounts for over 50 percent of the country’s residential installations.
Sunrun has long been invested in making it easier for homeowners to go solar. Last fall the company rolled out kiosks that can instantly assess a home’s solar potential, as reported here. If Sunrun keeps up the expansion and innovation it won’t be long before the company reaches its goal of “full market availability.”
