Solar Universe announces the addition of seven new franchises in critical U.S. solar markets. The company also announces the appointment of Michael Mahre as Chief Operating Officer.
After strong growth in 2013, solar franchiser Solar Universe has added seven new franchises in some critical solar markets. In top solar state California, the franchise added offices in Los Angeles, San Diego, Monterey, and Sacramento. Offices have also been added in New Jersey and in Syracuse and Albany, New York.
Now with 43 offices in 12 states plus Puerto Rico, Solar Universe remains the franchise leader in the industry. The company plans to continue this growth by opening an additional 24 new offices in 2014. This expansion will position the franchiser well to take advantage of expected growth in the solar market this year.
Solar Universe also said it plans to deploy $96 million in solar assets via the top three financing firms. The company says this will make it one of the most efficient firms in the solar business.
Solar Universe also announced the appointment of Michael Mahre as Chief Operating Officer. Mahre brings more than 20 years of experience in operations, finance, and strategy to the team and has significant experience in building materials distribution and construction management for the homebuilding industry. Prior to joining Solar Universe, Mahre built a multi-billion dollar integrated construction services company and worked on renewable energy and energy efficiency opportunities for a large private investment firm.
“Bringing Michael on board as we continue to expand into these new markets is a valuable and timely step forward for our company. We are experiencing exponential growth year over year, and are eager to apply his expertise to our ever growing network of franchises,” said Joe Bono, CEO and Founder of Solar Universe, in a statement.
