Yesterday, residential solar provider OneRoof Energy announced its expansion plans. The company is entering Maryland in the Baltimore Gas & Electric (BGE), PEPCO and Delmarva Power markets. OneRoof is also expanding its service area in New Jersey. Their services will now be available in the Atlantic City Electric territory.
Solar Strong in Maryland
Maryland and New Jersey both have a strong solar presence. According to the Solar Foundation, Maryland ranks thirteenth for solar jobs. Last year, the state doubled its solar capacity. These statistics make the state an attractive market for solar companies.
New Jersey Shines with Solar
New Jersey ranks third in installed solar capacity, according to a SEIA report. Last year alone, the state ranked sixth in new solar capacity. OneRoof has been a part of this trend. With this New Jersey expansion, the company will continue to grow with the state. New Jersey is on track to reach 300 MW of new installed solar this year.
“We are expanding our mission to bring renewable energy services to more homeowners in New Jersey and now Maryland,” said David Field, President and Chief Executive Office for OneRoof Energy. “This move by OneRoof Energy will make it possible for many residents to install solar with no upfront cost and pay less for solar electricity than they pay for utility power. Customers can go solar now, save money, and we provide the design, installation, financing, insurance, and monitoring.”
