Who: All of you!
As the country recovers from this week’s election — always a divisive event — to move forward we need collaboration and teamwork more than ever. Once again, on November 12, #SolarChat is stepping up to help facilitate a constructive and actionable discussion. This month’s theme? Politics, of course. Specifically, “Solar Politics, Policies, and Advocacy.”
We won’t be limited to an outside look. None other than Harry Reid, Majority Leader of the U.S. Senate, is joining this month’s panel. Add to that other luminaries like Rhone Resch, President/CEO of SEIA — plus all of you — and this month’s #SolarChat promises to be one of the best and biggest ever. So fitting for its third anniversary!
By now, you should be familiar with #SolarChat. If you’re not, you’ll want to check out this virtual solar community that provides a shared mission, shared information, and shared resources — all of which you can access without even leaving your home or office. Have a Twitter handle? That’s all you need to participate.
This month’s event is especially important to participate in, as the industry heads into a critical year in support of the ITC extension. Joining Senator Reid and Rhone Resch on the all-star panel will be Jack Shapiro of Organizing for America; RL Miller, Chair of the California Democratic Party’s Environmental Caucus and founder of Climate Hawks Vote; Stephen Lacey of Greentech Media; and guest journalist Zachary Shahan of CleanTechnica.
Harry Reid has been a strong proponent of solar. Rhone Resch said of him, “Senator Reid has worked tirelessly to advance the cause of clean energy in America – especially when it comes to solar. Through his outstanding leadership and support of smart, effective public policies, solar continues to be one of the fastest-growing industries in America, creating thousands of jobs, pumping billions of dollars into the U.S. economy and helping to protect the environment. This incredible growth will certainly be part of Sen. Reid’s rich legacy.”
