Baker Electric, Inc. and Baker Electric Solar Doing Their Part for Solar Employment in California

Baker Electric, Inc. and Baker Electric Solar announce that they have ranked #14 and #31 respectively on the San Diego Business Journal’s 2014 Largest Organizations Headquartered in North County list. The ranking is based on the number of local full-time employees.

 

 

 

The recent Solar Jobs Census showed a positive trend in solar employment around the U.S. Baker Electric Inc. and Baker Electric Solar are doing their part. Both made the San Diego Business Journal’s 2014 Largest Organizations Headquartered in North County list, with Baker Electric ranking #14 and Baker Electric Solar at #31. North County is a region in the northern area of San Diego County, California. It’s the second most populous region in San Diego county after the city of San Diego, with an estimated population of nearly 900,000.

 

As a fourth-generation electrical contracting company, Baker Electric Inc. specializes in commercial and utility-scale installations. San Diego solar installer Baker Electric Solar focuses on individual homeowners and light commercial work.

 

Fifty organizations headquartered in North County were ranked based on the number of local full-time employees reported as of January 1, 2014. Also accounted for in the list were the company’s local revenue for fiscal year 2013 and the percentage of change in the number of employees from January 1, 2013 through January 1, 2014.

 

Baker Electric Inc. commercial qualified for its #14 position with a total of 365 full-time employees. The company posted a nine% increase in the number of employees from the previous year. Baker Electric Solar earned its #31 rank with a total of 45 employees, achieving a 41% increase in number of employees over the one-year period.

 

Founded in 1938, Baker Electric, Inc. has been located in North County Escondido for its 75 years. Its first venture into solar was in 2003, when it partnered with home builders to install solar systems on new homes. With the continued demand for residential solar, Baker Electric launched Baker Electric Solar in 2007 as a separate entity to work with homeowners. To date the two companies have provided sun-powered options to more than 1800 San Diego County residents, with Baker Electric, Inc. performing solar installations for a wide range of industries including school districts, universities, military bases, and medical facilities.
