100% renewables


Saint Lucia has ambitious plans to increase its use of renewables. To kickstart this, the island has taken the historic step of installing solar on the national executive residence, Government House, as part of the Solar Head of State program.


After entering into PPA with SunEdison, Columbia, Maryland now gets 100% of its energy from wind and solar.


100% renewable energy could become a reality. However, it would take a strong commitment from government at all levels to coordinate at an unprecedented level.
